Waitati School Enrolment Scheme
To avoid overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding, the board of Waitati School has implemented an enrolment scheme that has been developed by the Secretary of Education. Under this scheme, students will be enroled if they live within the home zone. Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of this scheme and the precise description of the home zone may be viewed on the school website www.waitati.wordpress.com or at the school office. The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.
Please note that siblings of presently enroled students who live out-of-zone must also apply. Siblings of currently enroled students do not automatically get a place at Waitati School.
The board has determined that 20 places are likely to be available for out-of-zone students next year.
There will be three enrolment periods.
The first enrolment period runs from The first day of Term 4 to the 19th Nov (18th Oct – 19th Nov 2021)
The second enrolment period runs from first day of Term 1 to the last day of Term 1 (31st Jan – 14th Apr 2022)
The third enrolment period runs from the first day of Term 3 to The last day of Term 3 (25th Jul – 30th Sep 2022)
For students seeking enrolment within the first enrolment period, the deadline for receipt of applications for out-of-zone places is 19th November 2021.
Parents of students who live outside the home zone and intend enroling their child at any time during the next year should notify the school by 19th November 2021 to assist the school to plan appropriately for next year. If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot for out-of-zone places is required, it will be held on 20th November. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
Details relating to the second enrolment period are as follows.
Length of enrolment period: from 31st January to 14th April 2022. Deadline for receipt of applications: 14th April 2022.
Date of ballot: 15th April 2022. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
Details relating to the third enrolment period are as follows.
Length of enrolment period: from 25th July 2022 to 30th September 2022. Deadline for receipt of applications: 30th September 2022.
Date of ballot: 1st October 2022. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
